The new reality is to work from home when we are socially remote. While we are experiencing many challenges and reductions in productivity at work, today’s managers and executives are seeking new ways to lead their teams from home for the first time.

I was lucky to be able to catch some excellent examples by reporting leadership stories during the pandemic. In this segment, four such leaders gave helpful tips on navigating the current virtual landscape.

Set up a collective spirit

Augury CEO Saar Yoskovitz (AI) emphasizes the importance of keeping individuals connected, not just about jobs. “We are not the ‘first company remotely,’ but we adapt well to the market, bearing in mind that our culture is a hidden weapon for our market,” she says.

On the day of St. Patrick, Yoskovitz kept his team in a digital happy hour. Avast is the global pioneer in Cyber Security products with staff from all over the world spread across many countries and continents. They have had to adjust and realize what this new world order looks like as a shift to a distributed workforce, as do many other multinational businesses.

Jaya Baloo, CISO of Avast, told me about the measures taken on behalf of Avast employees: “There are very practical and clear steps we have taken to ensure that our remote workforce is working correctly and to ensure that we provide individuals with the equipment they need to do their job properly and that the mark of video conferencing properly is tutored.

Make a stable digital transformation plan

Scott Galit, CEO of Payoneer, a multinational FinTech firm that makes cross-border payments, calls corporate leaders not to view their initiatives as mere stoppers now. For years, developments have been rising for eCommerce, remote operations and online service providers. Galit says that these new patterns can be exacerbated with so many customers who are still making their regular online transactions and many businesses who run almost in the near future.

“There is time to make more lasting improvements to the business model that take digital trading into account both demand and supply in your companies and allows you to protect the risks in the future in times of uncertainty, states Galit. The virus certainly represents the biggest obstacle to business today.

For companies that want to preserve business continuity as best they can, it provides two tips:

Proof of your company for the future: Ask yourself: Are you ready for remote work for your company and staff? Do you have the good infrastructure? Will you have an onboard program for existing and experienced staff members of the company, practically on-board? Both these problems must be discussed and included in your remote work strategy.

Digital Work Enable: It’s important to sustain teamwork and face-to-face connections, but remote work doesn’t always make it easy to create. That’s why communicating with one another through voice, team messaging and video chat is crucial for a greater relationship. This also allows businesses to begin their onboarding phase by regular online meetings with other staff, team members, and HR for new hires as they would in the workplace. And it needn’t only be restricted to requests for jobs. Teams may use video to get a virtual coffee or lunch break together to improve camaraderie in a remote world or use the chat to inspire their colleagues to achieve personal milestones, such as exercise challenges or targets for reading.
